For most of us, trapped in average everyday suburban lockdown, the thought of being on an island paradise with perfect uncrowded waves is enough to send waves of ecstasy flowing through the body, as well as tears of sadness.
However, for surfers born-and-raised on the island paradise of Bali, the abrupt halt to the throng of international visitors arriving on their doorstep has meant that for once, they get to experience their lineups as they would’ve been 20-30 years ago.
Here we join Balinese surfer Darma Putra, as he makes the most of this unprecedented time on his island home.
