For most of the weekend and the tail-end of last week, Queensland and NSW have been buffeted by a large swell. In the early stages, the direction was more east, and it delivered some mind-blowing waves to the Gold Coast Points, but as the days passed the swell changed direction, coming from an ungodly south angle that rendered most of the coastline an unrideable mess.
