WATCH: El Nino awakes Jaws

All the highlights from last week's XL swell at the notorious big-wave spot.

Reading Time: 1 minute

We’re a week out till winter begins in Hawaii, and the Pacific Ocean has started to rumble and show signs of what is to come.

An XL-size swell hit Hawaii last week, leaving their best big-wave surfers with a dilemma- Pipeline or Jaws. The Florence brothers and the North Shore clique chose to stay at Oahu and hustle at Pipe. Which left Maui chargers such as Albee Layer, Kai Lenny, Billy Kemper, Kai Barger, Austin Kalama and Tyler Larronde take part in a paddle session at Peahi over two days. Albee was the standout in the sessions, putting on an absolute clinic at his home-break.

Former CT competitor Jack Freestone was a surprising cameo in the clip. The Aussie who now resides in Kauai with his family copped a beating on his debut at the big-wave spot before making redemption on a bomb.

Enjoy!
