There’s a seemingly endless roll-call of surfing champions from the Gold Coast – Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Rabbit, MP, Wayne Deane to name but a very few. It’s a big heritage to uphold. And of the next generation of surfers, Sheldon Simkus seems to be raising his hand to do so.
This clip is full of incredible tube-riding that can only be learnt via a life dedicated to threading the Gold Coast points, and the kid is electrifying once he sniffs out some open face.
Time will tell, but we think we’ll be seeing an ever increasing amount of young Sheldon.
