When most of us think of surfing in France, the mind typically conjures images of thumping beachbreak tubes, not long peeling walls. But here, French shredder Tristan Guilbaud enjoys the latter in his home department of Vendée. The waves here require a combination of long-period swell and offshore winds to groom them into shape. And as Tristan says, when the conditions align “That’s where the magic happens”.
