Tahiti had its opening XL swell at the end of last month, while it wasn’t as big as forecasted, some gnarly moments still went down at the world-famous slab. A large sum of the big-wave elite got to experience the highs and overwhelming beauty that the French Polynesian Island inherits. However, the surfers also saw Teahupoo’s violent side, with a vicious storm that accompanied the late April swell sadly destroying a bunch of the locals’ houses and personal property.
Tucker Wooding does an excellent job documenting the highs and lows in this brief time window.
Enjoy!
If you are able to donate anything for the locals who are still recovering from the storm, there is Leetchi (French version of GoFundMe). Click here to donate or to find more info.
