Nathan Florence is in South Africa, multi-tasking between filming content and supporting his brother John John compete at J-Bay. The Vlog machine is always ready to film content, and this unplanned clip may end up becoming his most viral video of the year.

The Hawaiian’s recent Youtube clip follows a Great White shark for ten minutes with a drone as the big fish checks out what’s underneath at Jeffreys Bay. While all the big players of pro surfing are currently at the famous point-break, this creature is the true apex predator in this line-up.

If surf history tells us anything, there’s always a possibility that a Great White may be sharing the line-up with surfers at the South African right-hand point. I got a severe case of sweaty palms when the shark was making its way to Rio Waida, who was chilling with his lower body in the water. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

It really makes you wonder how many times this happened to us in the surf and just never realised. Ignorance is bliss hey?
