WATCH: Dylan GraveS explores Rome’s unique surfing culture

Pairing Italy's famous delicacies with a healthy dose of barrels.

When you think of Italy and Rome, you think of pasta, ice cream, fashion and unique scenery. Surfing isn’t usually anywhere near the top of visitors’ lists.

But when the weird wave maestro Dylan Graves rolled into town he paired the usual sightseeing with a tour of the area’s surfing scene featuring local guide and regular-foot powerhouse Roby D’Amico.

In Dylan’s new Youtube clip, the pair explore the charming surf culture of Santa Marinella, which is 30 minutes outside the capital city of Rome.

They meet stoked locals, share fun onshore surf together and to top it all off, they chase a swell up and down the coast, and eventually score a number of tubes which Dylan claims he would be happy to have scored anywhere around the world, let alone in Italy – a country not necessarily known for its world class waves.

Next time your wife books a city break to Rome, consider bringing your surfboard. Click the link above to watch.
