According to a police statement, Aaron was first spotted by another surfer who noticed him struggling in the water around 4.35pm on Friday. However, due to rough conditions, the surfer was unable to provide assistance.
An emergency search was launched immediately but authorities could not locate Aaron and the search was suspended over the weekend due to adverse weather conditions.
Aaron’s father Don wrote the following statement on social media: ‘On Friday, our son, brother, father, friend, Aaron Beveridge went for a surf in his favourite place in Margaret River. Unfortunately he never returned. Words cannot describe the loss we are feeling at this time.’
Tracks extends its condolences and our thoughts are with Aaron’s family during this difficult time.
