When a surf contest comes to town the fans want the fun to keep rolling into the night. This is where the Tracks Party comes into play, generating a full-blown festival atmosphere that gives people license to cut loose.
A multi-dimensional event, where DJ’s, live bands, performers, pro surfers and prize give-aways blend together in a whirling overload of the senses. People forget their inhibitions, sing along to bands, hurl into mosh-pits and get involved in dance-offs.
This dynamic approach has helped etch the Tracks Parties into Australian surfing folklore. Talk to anyone who’s been to a Tracks Party and they generally have one thing to say – “When’s the next one?”
Well, we’ve answered that question as the infamous Tracks parties are being resurrected this year and the four stop tour will coincide the major WSL events in Australia.
The Goons of Doom will be headlining each stop of the tour with their timeless surf-punk riffs, alongside DJ Eddy who will take you on a wild ride with his genre-bending act that fuses music with performance.
The first stop of the tour will take place in a couple of weeks on Friday 15 March at the Prince Hotel in Newcastle during the Surfest weekend.
The Goons and DJ Eddy will be joined by the Midway Band in Newcastle and tickets will sell fast, so be sure to snap one up quick.
Following on from Newcastle, Tracks will be taking the tour to Bells Beach during the CT event and the party will be held at the Torquay lifesaving club on Friday 29 March, where the Goons and DJ Eddy will be joined by Purple Disturbance.
The third stop on the tour will be held at the Coolangatta Hotel on the Gold Coast on Friday 10 May and the final stop will see The Goons and DJ Eddy play at the Harbord Hotel in Sydney on 17 May, with further announcements to come on the support bands for the second half of the tour.
