World Surfaris, in collaboration with Surfing Association Papua New Guinea, is inviting surfers globally to participate in a surfboard and hardware drive to support the local surfing communities that neighbour SAPNG surf clubs and resorts around PNG.Â
All types of equipment including surfboards, bodyboards, leg ropes, wetsuits, rashies, flippers and wax are being sought.
Prior to distribution by SAPNG to their many affiliated surf clubs, 50% of all surfboards will have the front part painted pink. This is to designate the board be used by females only. It is a part of the pink nose revolution introduced by the SAPNG CEO Andy Abel some years ago to combat gender based violence.
The surf gear donation drive runs until the end of July. Donate any useable surfboards or surf hardware by shipping to World Surfaris’ Sunshine Coast HQ. Shipping to Tupira, PNG will be organised by SAPANG and World Surfaris. For enquiries please email [email protected].
