It’s not often that Sydney surfers get to test their mettle in the big stuff at home. But a recent weather bomb that plowed through the area brought giant storm surf in its wake and gave them a chance to take it on.
This clip was shot at Deadman’s, a sketchy and unpredictable reef on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, that can offer some giant caves, if you can negotiate the boil, the step, the clamping end section and the hungry cliff face.
Like the swell, the footage is raw and a bit wild, but makes for some entertaining viewing.
