You might've noticed us promoting surf flimmaking legend Jack MccCoy's epic Talk Story Tour, which is currently making its way around the country. If not, head here to get all the info on dates and places. It's a night of epic tales and surfing nostalgia well worth your time.
As part of the tour Jack has teamed up with GoPro and The Perfect Wave to launch a competition that will uncover and support Australia’s next big talent in surf filmmaking. The competition calls on up and coming, young-gun surf filmmakers to submit their best surf sequences for a shot at a once in a lifetime prize.
The Prize
An all expenses paid trip to the Maldives for the winning filmmaker and a guest to shoot a group of pro surfers with The Perfect Wave.
A deluxe gear pack from GoPro
A mentoring session with Jack McCoy, Kai Neville and the GoPro creative team. Content created by the winner in transit on the trip will be promoted via the partners networks.
The Judges
The judging panel includes a line-up of surf stars from the Jack McCoy Talk Story Tour – Mark Occhilupo, Dave Rastovich, Wayne Lynch, Belinda Baggs, Craig Anderson, Jack McCoy and Kai Neville, plus the creative teams from GoPro and The Perfect Wave.
How To Enter
Share your best surf sequence on your Instagram (60 seconds max) with hashtags #mccoynextgen and #jackmccoytalkstory along with @jackmccoyaloha @goproanz and @perfectwavetravel. Tag your crew as well and get them behind your entry.
The Rules
- Post must have hashtags and tags to be entered
- Submitted sequence must be taken by you
- Sequences can be new or old; enter your favourite work
- Sequences must be no longer than 60 seconds
- Entries close June 25, Winners will be announced July 1
- Prize is open to Australian residents only
