The 10x World Champ took down Yadin Nicol in the 35-minute final. Kelly tore apart a series of right handed reforms and also stuck a full rotation air reverse right as the heat started. Nicol was unable to respond and could only muster a total heat score of 2.57.
In the Women’s ASP final Lakey Peterson — yesterday’s Pro Junior Champion — battled it out with World Tour Title runner-up Sally Fitzgibbons. Sally’s display of surfing proved she did not want to finish in second place yet again, as she beat out the Santa Barbara youngster.
