If it weren’t raining so hard, I’m sure there would have been the odd tumbleweed rolling down the Kam highway today. Those who hadn’t already disappeared to there respective homelands were locked into rainy hangover zones, under doonas and watching movies.

It’s been a long year for the World Tour guys and the last leg of 2011 was a particularly long stint on the road. With Pipe over and done with, the only traffic rolling through town has been headed towards Honolulu airport.

The surf has dropped dramatically from the past few days of perfect Pipe. For the few without a sore head or a plane to catch, Rocky Point was the place to be.

Tomorrow the head will clear and the North Shore will play host to a free surfing marathon leading up to a new swell that’s due to hit around Tuesday.
