Despite winning the final of the Billabong Pro Pipeline Masters In Memory Of Andy Irons, thanks to some down and dirty under the lip grab rail left-hand bottom turns, truth is Kieren Perrrow rarely surfs ‘The Pipeline’ proper. Getting waves on the left on most free surfing sessions about as easy as scoring firing North Narrabeen with no one out! Near impossible. Spotting KP on these days on the North Shore is easy – (if he’s in town) watch the semi-closeout right Off The Wall down the beach a way from Pipe and you’ll catch him being spat of a right soon enough. Still, his skills on the famed wave are well and truly intact as this shot proves. A rare high and deep green lit special – the fact he’s covered in spray takes nothing away from its allure.
Hopefully we’ll see the reigning champ called into some more left hand bombs by the local legends come December this year.
