Australasia’s Pro Junior Men’s team has officially won the team ratings. |

Coolangatta, Queensland/ Australia, (Wednesday January 19 2011): Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Australasia’s Pro Junior Men’s team has officially won the team ratings of the just finalised ASP 2010 World Pro Junior Tour.
The team ratings were based on each regions top four male pro junior surfers final ratings points across the two World Junior Tour events, the Oakley World Pro Junior in Bali and the recently completed Billabong World Junior Championships in North Narrabeen.
The top four Australasian surfers were Jack Freestone, Mitch Crews, Davey Cathels and Dean Bowen and between them they accumulated 36 500 ahead of ASP North America on 30 250.
ASP Australasia Tour Manager Dane Jordan believes the strong performance is indicative of the strength of the Pro Junior tour in the Australasian region.
“It’s an honour to be the highest rated team and given the gruelling and extremely competitive tour our surfers have developed through domestically I’m not surprised” said Jordan.
“Highlighted by Jack Freestone’s individual world championship title the performances of our surfers has been exceptional and I congratulate all of them, both Pro Junior Men’s and Women’s.”
“This years’ pro junior tour is full of exciting talents and we have a strong calendar of quality events, typified by the fast approaching Hurley Burleigh Pro Junior at Burleigh Heads next week which boasts $US 50 000 prizemoney and shortly after the Oakley Pro Junior at Stradbroke Island.”
