A stacked bunch of Oz icons and legends went head to head at Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Course today to raise much-needed funds for those impacted by the devastating Northern Rivers floods.
After Mick took part in rescue operations during the March 2022 floods in Northern NSW and witnessed the destruction, he became inspired to continue the relief efforts. And so, the idea of The Mick Fanning Charity Golf Day was created, a fun, interactive, and memorable golfing experience that will help families and communities rebuild. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be going directly to those who have been impacted by the floods with the help of GIVIT.
Tracks long- time photographer Swilly was on the grounds at the golf course today. Swill said the highlight was seeing where the raised funds from this year’s charity event were going to.
“There was a family there are still homeless from the floods . They had a new born when the floods hit . Poor Mick was in tears when he was talking about them.”
Through GIVIT’s Donation Management Service, money raised will be distributed to local organisations that are on the ground doing incredible work to help towns and their residents such as the O’ Dr rebuild. The GIVIT promise is that 100% of donations received will be used to purchase essential items for people in need.
With the support of other Australian sporting greats, celebrities and organisations The Mick Fanning Charity Golf Day is also proud to present an online auction where you can bid on incredible items such as purchasing a raffle ticket ($10) for a year’s supply of Balter Beer.
The auction closes in less than 2 hours, click here to bid on the wide selection of prizes on offer.
