Caspian De Looze is one of the worlds best with a Posca Pen. Check out the board art he whipped up for Metallica while they were in town. |
Rob, Kirk, Lars and James with their new shooters.
Ever tried drawing on a surfboard with Posca Pens? It’s a freaking nightmare! One mistake with these unpredictable little devils can spell disaster for your craft. One bloke who has the things absolutely wired though is Caspian De Looze. Caspian is a super talented artist from Sydney whose primary media of choice is the Posca. Caspian’s studio sits smack bang in the middle of four surfboard factories on the northern beaches and he’s been stealing boards off them for years to draw on. Caspian’s board art is in high demand and among those who’ve commissioned his work are: Foo Fighters, MGMT, Pearl Jam, KISS, Green Day, Jamiroquai and Pink. Caspian has also done portraits of Kelly, Dane, Ry Craike and Willsy for Quiksilver.
His most recent work however, was for a little band named Metallica. He was kind enough to send through this cool little time-lapse video of himself drawing up a shooter for each of the boys.
Caspian and his Partner, Bec Crockett (a supremely talented artist in her own right), have teamed up with Soulier to put their pieces on some killer looking tees. To get yourself into one, check out wearesoulier.com
