Tracks has head hunted five filmmakers around the country to see their spoils from behind the lens for the series, Home Video. A filmmaker has their own distinct style and we thought why not let them piece together a clip on their own terms? In the fourth instalment we meet the nomadic Dominic Sullivan. Originally from Byron Bay Dom has been circumnavigating the globe, currently posted up in Victoria. You may have seen his work from our time on the Gold Coast at the Quiksilver Pro with his clip The Queen Of Coolangatta and Stance Wars: Snapper.

His submission for Home Video traverses France, Spain and Portugal with surfing from good friend, Garrett Parkes. There’s also surfing from Ellis Ericson, Dane Reynolds and Davey Cathels. Jump into one of the more artistic and delightful shorts we’ve seen so far.

Tracks spoke with Dominic Sullivan post surf in Victoria.

Q. What’s in store for the future? Do you want to keep making surf films? 

Yeah I have a few surf oriented films in the pipes. I’ve just been spending some time developing my story telling and experimenting with a few different mediums for creating. I have a few dreams I’m chasing, maybe too many, but it should be fun.

Q. Tell us about this clip you’ve put together?

I was lucky enough to travel across Europe with my best mate Garrett a little while back and it was very memorable. I haven’t been home much in the last five years and I’m currently living two hours away from the sea. I haven’t made anything for the internet surf world in at least a year, its hard when your working full time. This is a snippet of ‘home’ in N.S.W but really it’s a few waves from a few different short films in France, Spain and Portugal. It’s exciting to see a good friend succeed. My hard drives are pretty messy right now, it’s great to look back on old memories.
