This perfect grinder was captured during that epic run of swell that created dreams on the Gold Coast just over a fortnight ago. As the dust settles there are still pixels clogging up hard drives and lodged deep in the minds of those who experienced the waves of their lives. Photographer Simon Muirhead recalls it as some of the best waves he’s seen dance from Snapper to Burleigh and everywhere in between, “I spent three days telling people to stop calling and texting me how good it is hahaha.” And this wave? “There was some absolute grinders from the end of Greenmount beach coming into big groyne (Spot X) just empty! Everyone was sitting up at Greenmount or past the groyne towards North Kirra.”
