In a time long, long ago, before the dawning of the full rotation air, it wasn’t a gymnastic ability that gained you the respect of surfers around the globe. It was style, the economy of movement, placement and timing. Something that seems to get overlooked today in the almighty rush to get to the end-section.
Thankfully we have surfers like Torren Martyn who are keeping the aforementioned school of surfing alive, and in his latest clip – the second episode of his Lost track Atlantic Series – he ticks all of the boxes. Beautiful reads and lines drawn in Morocco on waves that Torren is adamant are the best he may have ever had the pleasure of riding.
Perfectly soundtracked by good friends Headland, and wonderfully captured by Ishka Folkwell, this is more than a web clip, it’s a classic piece of surf cinema.
