Over the last week, a blanket of rain, onshore winds and generally uninspiring conditions had masked a steadily building ENE swell. Yesterday the winds turned offshore, and the clouds parted to reveal a day of unbelievable surf in Northern NSW and SE Queensland.
The pick of the day was Kirra, where a hearty crew picked fed off a seemingly endless supply of day-making tubes.
