One of the craziest wipeouts you will ever see.

Adrenaline junkie Niccolo Porcella has most certainly won this year’s ‘Wipeout of the Year’ award after this effort at Teahupoo. All of us at the Tracks office have currently got a case of RSI after playing this on loop all afternoon. The horror, the horror.

Jamie O’Brien is on fire.

Surfing’s class clown and hard charging Hawaiian Jamie O’Brien continues to blow our minds. This week at maxing Teahupoo he decided to light himself on fire as he was whipped into an enormous cavern, hosing the flames out with the spit. J.O.B. continues to entertain us and smile in the face of fear year after year.

Jordy Smith’s African X-Files.

B-roll gold from the big South African, Jordy Smith. It’s been a painful year for one of the most hyped surfers in the world. Injury after injury have plagued the big man and have left us feeling a little short changed. However this dose of power surfing most certainly makes up for it and is a sample of what he can do at full strength.

Three Deserts with Nic Von Rupp.

The Portuguese Prince, Nic Von Rupp delivers another fantastic episode of his ‘My Road’ series and leaves us wanting more. The Moroccan point breaks will most certainly put you under a spell.

Volcom’s super groms head to Lakey Peak.

These kids might be small but they’re not afraid to charge. A recent trip to Lakey’s in Indonesia revealed that the next crop of junior surfers possess a heavy set of balls and know when to go. They sure build em’ tough in the land of Volcom Stone.

Night surfing at the Wave Garden.

Who doesn’t want to surf a wave pool? Before you spark up as being a die-hard purist you can’t deny that it doesn’t look like fun. Recently the Spanish based man made wave company, Wave Garden, got creative with their lighting and made it an even more spectacular show.

Seven free surfers embarked on a voyage to boldly go where no man had gone before.

Not that long ago, in an island chain far, far away, seven free surfers embarked on a voyage to boldly go where no man had gone before. Equipped with an array of surfboards, a packet of crayons and two ukuleles, their chances of success were slim. In pursuit of perfection, they were forced to navigate under the radar of a fleet of imperial boat charters. Despite numerous obstacles, the rebel alliance of wave-riding beatniks continued to make Galactik Tracks into a new surfing cosmos; their search for a Nirvana reaching its climax when they arrived at… The Island of Nowhere.

The film features the enigmatic and free-thinking Dave Rastovich at home on the Far North Coast of NSW.

Gathering is a short film from independent filmmaker Nathan Oldfield, the creator of the award-winning left of centre surf films Lines From a Poem, Seaworthy and The Heart & The Sea. The film features the enigmatic and free-thinking Dave Rastovich at home in the sacred playgrounds of the Far North Coast of New South Wales. The film explores Rastovich’s ideas around how the tension between the industrial and the natural in the surfing world unfolds in that place. Ultimately, Gathering celebrates how diversity and difference in ecosystems, relationships and surfing contribute to the preciousness of life. Gathering is easy on the eyes and ears and Tracks Magazine is proud to present it to you. Nathan Oldfield is a maverick, a filmmaker who wants a surf movie to say something important, to move us and make us grateful for the sea around us and the life within us. His films are quiet, beautiful and brimming with sacred purpose. Tim Winton, Acclaimed Australian Novelist
