The 70’s Cover Art Collection

It was the decade many of us wish we’d grown up in. Needless to say, some of those who did live through the 70s probably felt fortunate just to make it out the other side. It was a time in Australia when a younger generation was questioning attitudes towards, war, work, sex, drugs and the entire status quo in which they’d been raised. Rock music was in its prime and surfing was emerging as the ultimate counter-culture lifestyle choice. Then as equipment evolved waves became even more fun to ride. As surfing grew in popularity many surfers sought solace in the country-coastal locales yet to be tarnished by more aggressive development and commercial forces. Tracks attempted to capture these colliding forces and give their exponents a voice in a single broadsheet publication. Not surprisingly the magazine was way ahead of its time on environmental issues and many of the articles published on the subject retain their relevance to this day. As the decade unfolded, professional surfing progressed to another level and consequently occupied more pages in the magazine; but never at the expense of the reader who surfed for other reasons. Indeed, by virtue of the diversity of its articles and the irreverence of its tone by the end of the decade Tracks had given surfers an identity that was at once informed, original and always a little ‘f&%k you!’

The Framing Process

Your Print will be expertly framed with your choice of a sustainable timber frame. Then it will be finished with lightweight, optically clear, museum grade acrylic which offers 95% protection against UV rays. It will undergo one final inspection, before being securely packed for shipping. If your print is not being framed, it will be carefully rolled with cotton interleave and placed into a cylinder for delivery.

TIMBER FRAMES

We have selected three framing options that we believe complement the images perfectly and allow them to really stand out. With both white, black and Tassie oak options, our quality framing suits a range of settings and styles. We do not use basic framing glass, instead, we use high-quality acrylic. This acrylic is lightweight, protects against 99% of UV rays and is shatterproof.

ACRYLIC FACE MOUNT

Acrylic face mounting is one of the most impressive and striking ways to display your photographic print. Your print is mounted behind acrylic and the back is covered with specially treated aluminium. This process will completely protect your image from front to back. Your image is mounted edge to edge and creates a beautiful frameless finishes. Each piece is professionally finished with hand-polished edges. We use 4.5mm optically clear, Museum Grade Acrylic which has 99% UV protection. Acrylic is extremely safe to use, as it is shatter resistant and provides exceptional protection from sunlight, weather and temperature extremes. Once hung, your print floats approximately 16mm off the wall. You can be assured that you will receive an absolutely perfect, high-quality finish. The result is truly spectacular.

PRINT ONLY

Of course, you can also select the ‘print only’ option and frame the image as you please. All photos are printed on premium Hahnemuhle Ultra Smooth Photo Rag 305gsm paper giving each image incredible colours and luminosity.
