Waves are not a guarantee in this world but you can always hit the skate park or step out onto the court. A key aspect of being a pro surfer is knowing how to make flat days fun. Today, Noa Deane, Creed McTaggart and Ryan Callinan kept the stir crazy at bay by smashing the coping and hitting balls.

Although all three can find the sky on four wheels, it was filmer Toby Cregan who proved to be the most accomplished ramp grinder and stole the show. Resplendent in his tie-dye t-shirt, Toby schooled his film subjects with a winning display of front-side airs and high-line drifts. If it was the ’80s Stacy Peralta might have signed him up – shirt and all.

Meanwhile, out on the court at Moby’s resort, Ryan Callinan looked to have the sort of serve that would worry Federer. Those long, rubber limbs are custom-built for belting balls.
With swell on the way for Saturday it should be back to barrels and big airs for this bunch.
