RIDE THIS BOARD IF…

Looking for a retro oriented easy ride. Don’t get us wrong though, you can rip this board to pieces in a variety of waves.

UNDER THE HOOD…

This design has a flatter entry rocker with a pretty round outline. It also features a flatter deck and full rails for more buoyancy and better performance in gutless waves. With Xanadu’s special vee to double concave combo bottom this board feels alive under your feet. This board is so versatile it is ridiculous, anyone from a beginner to a pro can ride this board and have a blast.

SHELDON’S CONCLUSION…

The Xanadu ‘Wave Rocket 2’ was one of the most entertaining boards I’ve ridden. The board had a seemingly infinite supply of speed, sucking up every bit of energy the waves would offer. Despite being built for speed it still rolled over onto rail with ease and turned tight in the pocket. The irrefutable selling point of this board was, however, its fun factor. Its combination of speed and agility was addicting. In small running waves it was hard to get off. Fundamentally, it made mediocre waves exciting, which is ultimately the holy grail element in a small wave board. The board also lent itself to virtually any skillset. With the extra volume up front and consequent paddle power, it would be just as ideal for a beginner as it was for me. Thus, the ‘Wave Rocket 2’ is a perfect board for all levels and is ideal for someone who wants something fun to get them through the summer slop.
