As far 2024’s go, Winter Vincent has had a pretty good one. The Queenscliff regular footer qualified for the Challenger Series at his first attempt after some last minute heroics in Newcastle back in March saw him jump from 13th into the qualifying spots.
During his first year on the CS he counts a third place result in Ballito as his best result and with two events left, he sits in 18th with an outside chance of making the Championship Tour, not too bad for a first crack at trying to make the big league.
Oh, and if that’s not good enough, he also won the QS event in Nias which was held in perfect eight to ten feet, stand up right hand drainers. To top it all off, he’s just dropped an edit from a trip down to Bells, where he scored one of the many recent swells that have been lighting up the surf coast, for your viewing pleasure.
Perhaps the laps on the Bells bowl are a manifestation for things to come. With events in Portugal and Brazil left on the Challenger, the O’Neill team rider will be hoping to climb his way up the rankings to get closer to those ten qualifying spots.
