Winter Vincent is exiting 2025 and his teenage years in a position that puts him on the cusp of qualifying for surfing’s big league. The 20-year-old from Sydney’s Northern Beaches currently sits 10th on the Challenger Series rankings as the WSL’s second tier heads to Pipe at the end of January. After finishing an impressive 18th on his debut season on the CS in 2024, the lanky regular footer is looking to make the next step and finish inside the top ten.
Winter got his first taste of CT action earlier this year when he was given a wildcard into the Margaret River Pro, finishing 17th after being knocked out by Kanoa Igarashi. It’s already evident that his seamless rail-to-rail surfing has a place amongst the world’s best and comparisons have been drawn to his fellow O’Neill team mate, Jordy Smith, whose powerful stature and explosive surfing has been a feature on tour for almost two decades.
Winter’s latest edit ‘Done in 1 day’ sees him link up with fellow Aussies and CS competitors George Pittar and Jacko Baker for some practice reps on the North Coast of NSW as they aim to make the most of their down time before competition resumes on 29 January.
