WATCH: Why West Oz charger Ned Hart is Big Wave Surfing’s hottest prospect

Get to know the winner of the Young Gun Award at this year's Big Wave Challenge Awards.

Reading Time: 1 minute

Ned Hart flew over to Portugal last week to attend the New Big Wave Challenge Awards, where the 16-year-old was presented with the Young Gun award.

There’s plenty of hype around the West Oz surfer, and it’s well deserved. Ned’s been getting the surfing world’s attention with a bunch of viral rides such as his efforts at Shipsterns Bluff earlier this year.

Ned’s recent appraisal at the award show has coincided with the release of his new edit (featured clip), which follows his strike mission along Western Australia’s Southern Coast. In the clip ‘Uncharted Territory’ , Ned surfs the notorious slab ‘Red Beards’ for the first time, has an all-time session at the Right but also copped his first two-wave hold down.

You also get to know a bit about Ned’s story and how much passion he has for surfing big waves throughout the clip. We’ll be keeping an eye on him that’s for sure, the future’s looking bright.

Enjoy!
