The Olympics starts this week and some of the world’s best surfers are in Tahiti preparing for the 2024 games to start at Chopes. This is the perfect time to remind you what exactly this wave is capable of.
Earlier this month Teahupo’o went XL during its biggest swell of the year and some of the Olympians were on hand to test it out, while others opted to watch from the boat.
Amongst those involved were CT surfers Griffin Colapinto and Leo Fioravanti, as well local chargers Eimeo Czermak, Matahi Drollet and Kauli Vaast, who scored arguably the biggest wave of the swell.
Kauli, who will be representing France during the games, will surely be one of the favourites to win at a wave which he knows so well.
