There’s something quietly refreshing about a tight, two-minute edit that doesn’t try to oversell itself. The latest clip of Cam Macdougall on the Sunshine Coast does exactly that – no overcooked storyline, no forced drama – just a clean run of surfing across a handful of summer setups. From weak, wind-ruffled peaks to the odd punchier section, it’s a reminder that the conditions are as fun as you make them.
Cam’s approach is loose but controlled, linking turns with a kind of casual intent that feels well-suited to the inconsistent canvas of a Queensland summer. As well as a consistent air game and a solid approach to tubes, the edit has a bit of everything.
Summer time on the Sunny Coast isn’t exactly known for world class waves but young Cam certainly makes it look inviting, as well as some of the 8mm film which gives everything rose tinted glasses.
