Every time a swell lights up the point at Jeffreys Bay, we’re constantly reminded how much of a miss the event is to the World Championship Tour. Luckily for the South African’s competing in the big league, their local just lit up shortly after they downed tools for the competitive season, allowing them to be home for a J Bay swell.
Jordy Smith and Matty McGillivray were on hand to lay down some top tier surfing at the world famous right hand point break, alongside more of South Africa’s finest surfing talent which included Cape Town’s Jordy Maree who documented the sessions earlier this month for his YouTube channel.
