Russell Bierke’s latest edit is the surfing equivalent. Only instead of chart-toppers, it’s a decade’s worth of death-defying slabs, giant bombies and waves most people want no part in surfing.
Operating at the pointy end of big wave surfing, Russ is somewhat of a throwback. He’s built a reputation not through algorithms or self-promotion, but by consistently putting himself in front of some of the heaviest waves on the planet. When he does upload something, it’s usually worth paying attention.
His latest edit sees Russ and longtime filmmaker Andrew Kaineder pull together the standout moments from the last decade, which has included projects such as Bezerke, Flow State, Outer Edge Of Leisure and Inner Mechanics into one relentless greatest hits edit, showcasing years flirting with consequences most surfers wouldn’t contemplate.
