WATCH: Planning your next Indo surf trip?

Nic Von Rupp teaches a masterclass on what boards to take to Indo!

The Portuguese free-surfer has spent a lot of time in Indo charging the waves when it’s big or shredding the breaks when it’s fun and small. Nic decided to use his experiences in Indo and teach an online class on what boards you need to bring to have success on your trip to Bali or the Mentawai’s.

Board choice is super important when embarking on a trip to Indo. Extreme changes in tides and winds is common in Indo and creates a wide variety of waves. You don’t want to have any holiday regrets  by not being prepared.

Von Rupp unveils the eleven surfboards he’s packed to take to Indo and how each board helps him maximise his performance and enjoyment levels. From his biggest board which is a ‘6’6  x 30 litres’ – for when waves draw a lot of water and get double over head.  All the way down to his smallest board which is a 5’4 twin-fin that he uses when the swell has dropped and he just wants to have some fun.

The clip also showcases some of Von Rupp’s most iconic rides at his beloved Indonesian breaks.

Enjoy!
