When Nic von Rupp sent through his latest edit to Tracks, he detailed the dangers of the Portuguese slab simply titled ‘The Cave’. Nic says “For me the cave is that one wave that can really fuck up your career if you fall on the wrong place.”
Upon reading, we were under the impression that this was a mere exaggeration and thought to ourselves, “how fuckin’ bad can it be?” After watching our opinions certainly changed and we have to agree with Nic. The joint is gnarly.
The Cave is reminiscent of Sydney’s infamous Cape Solander, a place that has ended a surfing career or two. So, kudos to those who had a dig.
