Nazare is most famously known as a big wave spot with death defying tee pee’s that face off against the dramatic back drop of the cliffs that are usually filled with hundreds of people looking to get a front row seat to some of the biggest waves in the world. However, when it’s not going XXL, Nazare can occasionally pump on M, L or XL swells with the beach turning into shorebreak tube heaven.
As evidenced by Tim Bonython’s latest edit titled ‘Indo Dreaming at Nazare’ on his Surfing Visions Youtube Channel when Portugal’s premiere big wave spot turned into a fast running left hand tube akin to one of the many famous setups around Indo.
Amongst those to get in on the action were CT surfers Italo Ferreira and Kanoa Igarashi, as well as usual Nazare suspect Lucas Chumbo. As expected, it looked like Italo stole the show with his full throttle energy, fitting in tubes, air reverses and laybacks into waves that most would just about manage a two turn combo.
