WATCH: MIKEY WRIGHT IN RETIREMENT

Best free-surfing since a prime Dane Reynolds?

The Australian Cowboy is back to his best in the recent Wade Carroll edit Retirement.

Mikey Wright dropped off the tour after the Corona Open event in Mexico last season, declaring an indefinite break from competition. Mikey was not ready to give his freedom away to the WSL tour and wanted to focus on chasing the best waves around the world.

The 25-year-old  has to be up there as one of the best free-surfers in the world and this clip supports this. Mikey can do it all – charge big barrels, launch metres up in the air and destroy sections with his rail-game.

I’m calling it …Mikey is the best free-surfer since a prime Dane Reynolds.

Watch him carve up the perfect right – hand points Mexico has to offer. It makes you want to throw your computer away and get a one-way flight to Mexico City.

Watch to the end, the last wave is ridiculous surfing…
