Every sport needs a Mason Ho like character. He’s funny, unpredictable, doesn’t take himself too seriously and yet, in the water, he’s always one of the best out there displaying an extensive repertoire of stylish fin throws, flicks, airs and looks so comfortable in waves of consequence.
Mason had a busy 2024. He spent an extended period in Indo during dry season and is always a fan favourite to watch at Desert Point with his unconventional pig dog barrel stances. Mase competed in wave pool comps, the Pipe Masters and at the Eddie, where he won one of the biggest ‘OMG’ moments of the day when he catapulted himself into the incoming backwash at the infamous Waimea shorey, which sent him flying in the air.
To top off his year, Mase continued to spend hours dancing around extremely shallow slab setups, which look so sketchy that most pro’s would be put off surfing them, let alone the average joe. All of which are constantly posted on YouTube by Mase’s longtime filmer Rory Pringle for our viewing pleasure.
