“Professional surfer, actress, fashion, fitness, golf.” reads Lilliana Bowrey’s Instagram bio. Being multitalented applies to her surfing too. Longboard, twinny, thruster, nose rides, tubes are just some of the things she excels in. The 21-year-old has the world, and various craft, at her feet.
Her latest film ‘Perspectives’ goes some way to showcasing her rideable palette. Filmed across Sri Lanka, Indonesia and New Zealand, Lilliana can be seen clocking up time on the nose in Arugam Bay before sending it over the ledge and stuffing herself deep inside some Sumbawa funnels.
Here’s what she had to say about the project:
“The project follows different waves, cultures, environments, and surf crafts exploring how changing your board can completely change the way you see a wave, and even the way you experience surfing itself. More than just a performance film, Perspectives was created to inspire people to step outside of routine, try something different and reconnect with the freedom that surfing is really about.
“The film reflects my own personal perspective of surfing and travel, while hopefully encouraging others to go explore their own – whether that’s through surfing, creativity, travel, or life in general. At its core, it’s a reminder that things don’t always have to be so serious. Sometimes the best experiences come from simply being open to something new.”
