WATCH: Laurie Towner & Russell Bierke in Game On

We were wondering where Tim Bonython was when the big swell hit the East Coast of Aus over the last long weekend.

Big-Wave surfing’s most active man behind the camera followed a crew consisting of Maroubra’s Wayne Cleveland and Max McGuigan, former CT competitor Kirk Flintoff and well-regarded big wave-surfers Laurie Towner and Dylan Longbottom in search of slabs on the south coast.

The crew found some waves on a mysterious bommie which they headed out to at dawn until the local crew crowded the big-wave spot. South Coast local Russell Bierke was a standout in the session after just getting off the flight from Teahupo’o.

Crazy ride at the 11:25 mark, with amputee surfer Ollie Dousset courageously charging a big set wave.

Enjoy the lunacy!
