WATCH: Kirra woke up from its winter sleep

The Goldy got some of the July swell too.

Maui wave Ma’alaea blew our minds last week as what’s considered the world’s fastest right barrel pumped for the first time in 20 years. Kirra, couldn’t let Ma’alaea have all the shine as it decided to turn on over the weekend as a storm swell hit the Gold Coast. It’s always a beautiful sight to watch Kirra in pumping form, as it reminds us every now and then of what a perfect wave it can be.

From pros to kooks, watch all levels of surfers hustle for the perfect wave that Kirra teases. All you need is one ride out at the Superbank to make your year. If the unknown charger had made that thick pit at the 1:33 minute mark, he would have been the life of the party at Kirra Surf club Saturday night. Hopefully, he was shouted a few beers for the heroic attempt.

Enjoy!
