The right hand points of Morocco are made for stylish surfing. The long walls right hand walls that spread across Taghazout and further afield are an empty canvas which suits those longer drawn out rail turns and also present opportunity to experiment on alternative equipment.
One surfer who took that opportunity recently was Juliette Lacome who spent January in Morocco scoring endless right hand points. Juju previously spent a lot of time competing on the Qualifying Series but decided to pause her competitive career two years ago due to burnout. Since then she’s done a number of free surf trips which have resulted in projects such as ‘Reborn’ and ‘Out of Town’. She’s also linked up with good friend Coco Ho and is riding under Coco’s new alternative board venture ‘XO COCO’ which delves into experimental surfboard design specifically aimed at women.
Juliette’s latest edit ‘Right Nation’ was filmed during her time in Morocco and her stylish forehand approach, matched with her XO COCO blades, makes for an enjoyable viewing.
