Earlier this year some of Australia’s best up and coming surfing talent were taken on a camping adventure and challenge with Surfing Australia and Dometic as a prize for making the 2024 ABB Grand Final, which was held at Burleigh on the Gold Coast.
In episode two of the Camping Challenge, surfers were pitted against each other to see who could put together the best combo of maneuvers, with the top male and female each taking 250 dollars for their respective boardriders clubs.
The crew were blessed with pumping A-frame peaks that allowed for tube to turn and air combos. Newly qualified CT surfer Joel Vaughan, who surfs for North Shelly Boardriders, won best combo for his deep tube into forehand cutback. I’m sure we will be seeing a lot more of that when he competes in the big league next season.
Nyxie Ryan won best female combo as she displayed an impressive rail game and Macy Callaghan won an extra Dometic prize for the best single turn for an impressive layback rail gauge.
