If Nostalgia was a drug, then for many in the surf industry, vintage boards can often be the dealer that sells it. For Dylan Graves, he recently got his hands on a couple of boards that were shaped by his father Lewis Graves, during the 70s and 80s when he worked as a part owner of Ocean Avenue, which was considered as ground zero for Florida surf culture in that era.
In Dylan’s latest YouTube edit, he and his brother Josie take the boards for a surf in their native Puerto Rico, an opportunity Dylan describes as ‘spiritual’. They’re also joined by Mikey February, a man whose playing a part in bringing many of these retro shapes and features from the 70s and 80s back into fashion.
Dylan has also called on anyone who may have any of his father’s old shapes to get in touch with him.
