At the end of 2024 Jaws witnessed quite possibly its biggest and best run of XXL surf ever. The swell bender went on for five consecutive days, with the last day being the biggest. By the time it reached day five, only a handful of hardcore chargers, many of which have devoted their lives to pushing the limits at Maui’s premier big wave spot, were out there sending it and making history.
While the majority of the surfing world had their eyes on the Eddie, Albee Layer, Wilem Banks and a couple of others were hucking themselves over the ledge on some of the biggest waves ever paddled into. Most people’s lenses were focused on Oahu but luckily Tucker Wooding was on hand to capture the action at Jaws. When Tucker was called into duties at the Eddie, Slater Nobrosky, Tim Bonython and Vincent Kardasik held it down with the footage at Peahi.
Tucker, alongside Slater, has just released a 14 minute cinematic masterpiece which captures those five days at Jaws, with footage from across every day of the swell and interviews from Albee and Wilem.
