Surfing is an art form and it goes hand in hand with other creative processes. In the case of stylish regular footer Juniper Harper, she’s paired her forehand attack with a bunch of original cyanotype animations in her latest edit to produce a short cinematic piece which makes the tropics look extra inviting.
A cyanotype is a photographic printing technique which involved laying an object on paper coated with a solution of iron salts before exposing it to UV light and washing it with water to create a white and Prussian blue image.
Juniper’s latest edit is now live on Billabong’s YouTube Channel, here’s what they wrote about the video: “Juniper Harper’s cyanotype creations are a poetic blend of light, shadow, and oceanic inspiration. Capturing the essence of her latest surf adventure in Indonesia, her art transforms fleeting frames into lasting indigo impressions.
“She uses sunlight and chemistry to frame the rhythm and beauty of the waves. For Juniper, the process is more than art—it’s her way of expressing the soul of the sea, turning each ride into a timeless story of motion, memory, and endless blue dreams.”
