You might not have heard of 17-year-old Mitchell Peterson. But you will have definitely seen his wave of a lifetime at Off The Wall which he snagged at the start of the year. The throaty forehand cavern which blew its guts, and Mitchell, out garnered almost 100k likes on Insta and heaps more views.
“I was in the right place at the right time, I paddled as hard as I could, air dropped down the face looking at the reef and then pulled up into the barrel which felt as big as my bedroom!! I was going so fast, went over the foam ball and then everything went white and I just got blown out of it!! Felt like a firehouse behind me!!!” Mitchy said about the wave.
Other than that, the grom from Noosa Heads was still a relatively unknown fixture in the surfing world, until now. He’s currently making tracks on the pro junior and QS circuit in Australia and has just put out his first full edit titled ‘Clusta’.
The nine minute flick, which Mitch edited himself, features footage that was captured over the past 12 to 18 months from all over the world, including locations such as Hawaii, Australia’s East and West Coast, Indonesia and Fiji.
