The last Australian World Champions were Stephanie Gilmore in 2022 and Mick Fanning in 2013. For such a wave and talent rich country, those stats are pretty surprising.
But fear not, the future is in safe hands. The country can count on the likes of Dane Henry, Hughie Vaughan and Milla Brown who are currently making names for themselves on the world stage. Then a generation below them you also have a pack of hungry groms.
Enter Loci Cullen, Ocean Lancaster and Mitch Peterson.
The teenage trio, who all ride for CI, recently linked up for a training session somewhere on Australia’s East Coast and I think it’s safe to say the future of Australian surfing is in safe hands.
Here’s what they were riding:
- Ocean – CI Better Everday – (5’4″ ,18 1/4″, 2 1/8″)
- Loci – CI 2.Pro – (5’3″, 17 1/4″, 2 1/16″)
- Mitch – CI 2.Pro – (5’8″1/2, 17 7/8″, 2 3/16″)
