The man always behind the camera at big wave sessions around the world, Tim Bonython, dropped a new surf edit Fierce Desire of a session at a secret spot near Sydney.
Some of Australia’s best surfers were out there contesting for the biggest bomb. Big wave-surfer Wayne Cleveland got arguably the wave of the day, while fellow Maroubra charger Max Mcuigan once again made surfing slabs look a walk in a park on his back-hand. Shaper and big-wave surfer Dylan Longbottom is always a standout when the waves get solid in Aus.
Free-surfers Noa Deane and Harry Bryant were in the lineup. Noa was bored with surfing normally in the session and around the 10:20 minute mark went from knee boarding to body boarding on a pretty heavy one, Harry followed suit shortly after.
Words from Big Wave Project 2 director Tim Bonython on the secret slab “I put this place up there as one of the better slabs off the east coast of Oz. Yep, you gotta be good to surf this spot. I reckon I saw four or five snapped boards during this full day session plus a bit of blood.”
Enjoy!
